Talk about dysfunction? Members of this family worked for and helped out, on a regular basis....the people who hurt them the most. Throughout, they were being subjected to mental and physical abuse. Sorry, I think it could have been much better. Main character should keep her day job.

Just when you think pieces begin falling together there is a plot twist. There is something for foodies, animal lovers, interesting character relationships, and more than the one main mystery to ponder. Leaves the reader wanting more Sara Blair adventures.
A great start to a series that I expect to enjoy for a long time. The interaction of the sisters while cordial was not smooth at first but in time the reason comes out and we see hope for a better future. That chance of a better relationship is important to me. The mystery was complex enough that I did not figure out the culprit and I sure didn't figure out how the first death came about. Sarah is intelligent and mostly acts it. I really liked Harlan who is not the tradition perfect hero but he qualifies in my book. I will be reading the next book soon.

In this entertaining debut of a cozy mystery, twenty-eight-year old Sarah Blair, had it all. Until her rich husband divorced her and she went from luxury to a cramped apartment and a job as receptionist at Law Firm. She moved Birmingham, to the small town of Wheaton, Alabama. Everything is as it should be until her ex husband turns up dead, and her twin sister Emily ,a chef, is the prime suspect. It is very good and well written for a debut novel. The mystery was great too and I like the characters
